If you look carefully at Emma's chest in the top picture, you will see the scar from her surgery to remove an aggressive mast cell tumor. This tumor had broken through her chest rapidly when she was 12 years old. Emma's regular vet was out of town when more mast cell tumors were discovered. The emergency vet found a second mast cell tumor deep in her chest and removed it. Her artery was nicked and she almost bled out. The vet opted to leave a third tumor in place.
